Support the Cambodian Children's Fund

Yoga Instructor Amanda Daniels of Bikram Yoga Kitchener-Waterloo has joined Off The Mat, Into The World's leadership challenge to raise $20,000 for the Cambodian Children's Fund. She has titled her campaign Yoga For Cambodia.

Yoga For Cambodia's purpose is to raise funds for, and awareness of, the Cambodian Children's Fund™. In her travels during 2001, she was deeply affected by the raw energy and courageous spirit of Cambodia, home to some of the most impoverished and abused children in the world. She invites us to join this initiative and feel great about helping out these kids!

Our dollars go a long way – even one dollar will provide three nutritious meals for one child. $30 feeds a child for one month! $100 covers one child's monthly general expenses – meals, clothing, basic medical care, school fees and supplies. And, in lieu of money, envisioning light in the life of these Cambodian children should be equally, if not more, powerful and welcome.

Once Daniels has raised $20,000, a small percentage of the proceeds will go towards supporting a trip to Cambodia. There she will join other yoga leaders in a leadership training program with Off The Mat, Into The World, and will contribute to the Cambodian Children?s Fund through hands-on work. Thank you for all your contributions!

The Cambodian Children's Fund is a U.S.-registered 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization no. 20-0764162.

Yoga for Cambodia's Intentions:

  • Raise funds for, and awareness of, the Cambodian Children's Fund™ a registered charity providing children with ongoing food, job training, health care and education through its five orphanages and outreach programs.
  • Aid in reintroducing children to their cultural arts, which were all but lost during the Pol Pot regime.
  • Invite us to expand inward, to remember we are fundamentally interdependent, to each other and the Earth.
